Things to do for securing your mac - OSX security




1. Set login password
Go to System preferences and choose Security & Privacy. Set your password and tick "Require password after sleep or screen saver begins" option

2. Set download permission
In Security & Privacy menu, Change the option from where you allow an app to be downloaded. To stay safe you can choose to download your app from Mac App Store and identified developers.

3. Turn Filevault on
In Security & Privacy menu, choose tab "Filevault" and Click "Turn On Filevault" , follow the step and keep the recovery key.

4. Manage Location Services.
Go to tab "Privacy" and you can choose which applications that can determine your location if you enable Location services.

5. Time Machine
To keep your data safe, it is recommended to turn on your time machine and schedule your preferred backup setting. To do this, Go to System Preferences and choose Time Machine. Slide the Time Machine button to "ON" state and select your backup disc.
